Hello my little babes ! Today I want to talk about this amazing super-food which is spirulina. Spirulina is a microalgae that grows naturally in the wild in warm fresh water lakes, and it is a concentrate of nutrients. The benefits of spirulina : let’s talk about it!
The benefits of spirulina
I discovered spirulina already some years ago in a organic & health convention in Paris. I talked with a specialist who explained to me how miraculous & healthy this seaweed was, and that everybody should eat some everyday. I remember I was super inspired, and I even tasted it finding it delicious. But, at that time, I was still a student with no much buying power and it was a bit expensive, so I didn’t buy it. I thought “I’ll buy it later”, and years passed until I finally got some, which is this week 😀 Finally ! Now for sure, I won’t stop using it!
What does spirulina contain?
This micro-algae is an incredible source of nutrients, and it’s very low in calories. Thus, it’s great to maintain your body in a good shape!
- It contains between 55% and 70% of high-quality protein! Just to get an idea, in only one teaspoon of spirulina, there is 2,5g to 3,5g of protein! So, one teaspoon for each meal is approximately 10g of proteins per day. A simple thing to add to your routine that brings a lot!
- It’s an astronomical source of beta-carotene ! Perfect little help for your tanning 😉
- It also contains a lot of iron, which a lot of people lack of. Moreover, I just learned that some things like coffee and tea reduce the absorption of iron. So, it’s not a surprise that it’s so common to lack of it! So, if you do have this problem, welcome spirulina in your life as your new best friend!
- Last but not least, it contains amazing oils and antioxydants.
IN SUMMARY : LET’S GO FOR IT – BIG TIME !
So I really recommend using spirulina every day! I personnaly eat it often in some recipes : mostly in my delicious Unicorn Lattes or in my green smoothies.
Lot of kisses dears ! Let me know in the comments if this is something you’re using or planning to try !
